This game was created after finishing the 'Low Poly Landscapes: Blender Bite Sized Course', created by the GamedevTV team.

The main challenge was to come up with an idea to showcase what the course was all about: creating low poly landscapes in Blender. How to develop a game where there are no characters? Interesting topic but nothing new, there are thousands upon thousands of games with no characters, one being the most popular game of all time; Tetris.

I decided to create a simple game where the player finds a bunch of coins just for the sake of it, this creates a necessity where the player has to look at the model created during the course.

The biggest downside of the course is that it doesn't dig into optimization for games, something that obviously doesn't talk about since it is a bite sized course after all, but some tricks would have been highly appreciated, like how to deal with that annoying edge loop when using the mirror modifier, not all models need it and you can reduce the poly-count by removing it, that left me wondering if there's a easier or automatic way to do that.

The course is a lot of fun, you'll end up with something similar to what I created here in Blender, and leaves you wondering if you could do way more, it also teaches you that patience is key, the time you put into it will show.

I'm really happy with the final product for such a small game. The amount of variation you can create with very few models by simply rotating and scaling them is insane and a very neat trick to keep things fresh for the player.

Really nice! I like how you get thrown into there and figure out the controls on your own. Its not too easy and neither frustrating :)
